LUCKY DUCKS Once upon a time There was a nice family of ducks, A mother and a father And I was the ugly duckling. They really wanted a swan. They prayed for a swan. They even gave me swan lessons. They just hadn't heard Fancy feathers don't make a bird. Such tough luck They were stuck With just a duck. I was a good duck. I always behaved, Didn't quack out of turn, Didn't make waves. I grew up as ducklings do, One fine day away I flew. I got married, I found out, I'm not a duck, I'm a flamingo! Oh no, a flamingo just won't do. Pink flamingos are tacky, too. How embarrassing! Flamingos! Pink! Whatever will the neighbors think? We're all flamingos, my husband and me; Our children are flamingos three And we like it, yes siree! And what's more, I'm a flamingo Who's had swan lessons.
